- Great price(5 points)
- Make good mid-ranged cards ( 0 points for it's inline with the first point)
- Is owned by AMD, so you can get a laptop that is "powered" by AMD with an ATI card and a AMD prossor(and I think it costs less) ( 1 point)
- ATI provided they specs to the Open Source cumminity so the community could make drivers for their cards, these drives are known to work somewhat better then the proprietary ones and are nessery for my old laptop which ATI no longer supports so with out them I would only have VESA. Although I must admit that there is a reserve engendered Nvida driver but it's not very good. I must also admit that my NEW ATI card is not yet supproted by the 3d driver. ( 5 points)
- I like ATI( 1 point)
Nvidia:
- Physx support - ( + 10 points)
- Physx is a closed standerd and Intel and ATI card owners suffer emencly. Also Nvidia is mean if you want to use your CPU for Physx(http://semiaccurate.com/2010/07/07/nvidia-purposefully-hobbles-physx-cpu/) and by getting one you are "supporting" this action. This is worth -7 points off of the value of the product, just as you could add value to an energy efficient product.(- 7 points)
- You can use your GPU as a CPU(+ 3 points)
- Nvida cards look cool! ( .5 ponts)
- Custom resoluteness( 1 point)
- The run games a bit better then ATI cards(this mgiht be because of Pyhsix, I don't know it's just what I have been told. ( 2 points)
- Better softhware( 2 points)
- Can turn on 3D for 3D glasses.( 1 points)
Next week:
PC VS Macs
EDIT:Added some "points" to Nvidia. now it's a tie! I must also note that I am talking more at the mide ranged level I think at the higher end Nvidia wins.
