PlayStation VR(sitting):
- [the game with the bird] - you fly a bird and can move your head around, push circle(?) to shoot.
EVO VR Headsets(Smatphone) (sitting):
- Overall experience - The library has housing for a Smartphone that they provide. (both housing and phone). It's a step up from "Google Cardboard".(or maybe two) HTC Vive looks better, this actually kinda feels like you have a phone strapped to your face. (a large "screen door" effect is present). Now, I have gone at least 20 minutes in HTC Vive and had no issue but after too much of this, I did get a bit of eye strain like I get with 3D glasses. The first time I used it, I and the facilitator could not figure out how to get my helmet on me properly, it was either too loose or too tight. I ended up just holding it up to my head.(the second time it worked fine) I really like this kind of VR and have suggested they use it more often.
- Google Expeditions - You can see 360-degree images of different places. There is an app that a teacher or in this case the facilitator can use to show you points of interest and move you to the next slide. In the end, I had some time to myself, I ignored a lot of the points of interest and just went from scene to sceen. I had a lot of fun and would love to do something like this in the future.
- Videos - They
a couple of apps where you can watch videos. The ones I tried were part
of a meditation program, so they were all relaxing i.e. beaches,
calming landscapes, that sort of thing. Sometimes the video
position(main point of interest) is behind you so I recommend a
swivel chair. It also makes you feel sick if you move your head too much so be careful. I found it very relaxing and fun, give it a try.
